Longines opens new store in Chennai with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

The Swiss luxury watch brand Longines opened a new store in Chennai on July 25 and celebrity Aishwarya Rai Bachchan inaugurated the 350 square foot space.

Longines’ new address at VR Chennai opened on Thursday to bring the brand’s latest collection of luxury timepieces to the city, NewsVoir reported. Brand ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the event and cut the ribbon to open the store.

Rai Bachchan was presented with a timepiece from the brand’s new HydroConquest collection, which is inspired by the world of aquatic sports.

"I have been a part of the Longines' family for two decades now and I have only seen it grow from one milestone to another,” said Rai Bachchan at the event.

“Today, I am very happy and proud to inaugurate this new Longines boutique in Chennai, a city close to my heart."

The store is designed in classic Longines fashion with bright lighting and gold fittings. A large selection of the brand’s men’s and women’s watches are on display comprising both day and evening pieces. 

Longines was founded in Saint-Imier in Switzerland in 1832 and is now a member of the Swatch Group. Longines retails in over 150 countries and the first shipment of Longines watches entered India in 1878.
