One New Change, the City of London’s largest and newest shopping centre opened its doors this Thursday. The City mall, now open 7 days a week, is located in the heart of the city in Cheapside, which offers flagship fashion stores and unique one-off speciality shops, and trendy restaurants all set overlooking London’s St Paul’s Cathedral.

The City mall will be home to one of London’s highest public roof-top terraces, with spectacular new views of the cathedral and the London skyline. The space will be open to the City’s 6.3 million international visitors and 340,000 local workers throughout the year.
The fusion of shopping and dining housed within a modernist glass building is set to transform Cheapside from a 9-5 week-day environment, to a seven-day social destination, appealing to local workers and residents, in addition to domestic and international tourists.
With around 60 stores spanning three floors, One New Change will be the largest consolidated retail space in the City of London, rivaling other London shopping hot-spots. Topshop, H&M and Banana Republic, amongst others will cater to shoppers.
The iconic building has been designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect, Jean Nouvel, to complement its neoclassical surroundings. The modernist development has over 6,000 floor-to-ceiling glass panes flooding the floors with natural light.
Robert Noel, MD of Land Securities London Portfolio commented: “One New Change has been designed in sympathy with its rich architectural surroundings. The City mall will bring high-street brands, independent shops and unique concept restaurants to the City, to complement its world-class financial services and the area‟s extensive repertoire of museums, art galleries and breath-taking architecture. “By opening seven days a week we are changing people’s perceptions of the City and creating a new retail destination where the area‟s rich culture can also be enjoyed by Londoners and tourists alike.”
In addition to the retail offering, the eight-floor development includes 330,000 sq feet of contemporary office space and will be home to 3,000 new office workers.
