LMIFW closes with six yards of magic celebrating sari's diversity

​India’s leading designers came together to celebrate the country’s traditional sari garment at the grand finale of the Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week in New Delhi.

The grand finale saw 21 designers showcasing 21 different renditions of the sari under the ‘six yards of magic theme’.
 
Bollywood actress Diana Penty opened the finale show walking the ramp in a sari while Aditi Rao Hydari brought the curtains down to the 33rd edition of the fashion week

Designers who showcased their interpretations of sari included like Rimzim Dadu, Rohit Bal, Wendell Rodricks, Akaaro, Alpana & Neeraj, Amit Aggarwal, Anamika Khanna, Anavila, Anita Dongre, Bodice, Gaurav Gupta, Little Shilpa, Neeru Kumar, Pankaj & Nidhi, Payal Khandwala, Prashant Verma, Raw Mango, Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna, TAANI by Tanira Sethi, Tarun Tahiliani and Urvashi Kaur.
 
"The grand finale paid homage to the adaptability ingrained in the warp and weft of this traditional fabric. Today, the sari has seen many innovative and artisanal renditions to woo the modern, thinking woman in a youthful way," Sunil Sethi, president of the FDCI, said in a statement.
 
LMIFW started on March 13 at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in New Delhi and saw more than 100 designers showcase their collection during the four-day event with runway shows and stalls.
