The company has appointed Oliver Kaye as its chief operations officer. Kaye earlier headed global apparel and accessories retailer Gap’s Indian operations.

Lenskart has also appointed Deepti Tandon from Times Internet as its chief business officer for its online business.

“We wanted to bring in that level of retail expertise, in terms of complexity of operations and the discipline and rigour that is required to create a delightful consumer experience, which is still quite a scarce commodity in Indian retail,” Bansal told the Economic Times.

“In Lenskart, we have gotten to a stage where we have cracked the business model, but we needed to become more people-centric, given the growth of the company. Culture building, training, and leadership development are a core focus for us,” Bansal added.

The company had clocked a total revenue of Rs 179 crore (approx $27 million) during the financial year 2017. Lenskart, one of the largest online optical retailers, currently has 410 stores across the country and strong online presence.

Lenskart has planned massive expansion this fiscal and is expected to take its store count to 500 by end of this fiscal.
