Lee has opened a store each in Rajasthan, Bihar, and Jharkhand. The US-based denim brand is expanding its presence in Tier 2 and 3 cities as India licence holder Ace Turtle rolls out an ambitious brick-and-mortar expansion plan.

Lee and Wrangler are both US-based denim brands

Lee’s latest India stores are located in Sikar in Rajasthan, Patna in Bihar, and in Dhanbad in Jharkhand. The stores retail a wide variety of denim and casual wear for men and women along with accessories and lifestyle items. The stores are also omni-channel enabled to mix online and offline features.

“As of now, we have opened 80 stores of Lee and Wrangler on a franchise model across Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities in India so far,” said a spokesperson for Ace Turtle, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. “We are setting up the stores closer to our customers to provide them with the best omni-channel shopping experience.”

US-based business Kontoor Brands tied up with e-commerce enabler Ace Turtle in 2020 as its India license partner to retail Lee, as well as denim brand Wrangler, in the Indian market. In June this year, the business announced that it plans to increase its total stores for both Lee and Wrangler from 40 to over 140 by March, 2023.
