Lecoanet Hemant launched its latest collection at The Quorum in Mumbai and design duo Didier Lecoanet and Hemant Sagar have now launched their line at the brand’s Genes flagship store in Phoenix Palladium mall.

Lecoanet Hemant launched new collection ‘Paris Dot Delhi’ with an interactive showcase at private members’ club The Quorum, the venue announced on Facebook. The collection pays homage to Lecoanet’s niece who passed away at a young age and mixes 1960s-esque mod-style with a playful spirit with oversized polkadots and a-line shapes.
The menswear and womenswear collection has now launched at its recently opened Genes store in Mumbai. The store opening marked the brand’s revived presence in the fashion industry after somewhat of a hiatus as well as its pivot from couture to ready-to-wear.
Lecoanet and Hemant launched their brand in 1981 and, in 1984, it became the twenty-fourth couture house to join the famed Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. From 1984 to 2000, the brand presented a total of 33 haute couture collections at Paris Fashion Week. The brand then relocated from Paris to Delhi and has shifted its to ready-to-wear.
Lecoanet Hemant also currently had an exhibition dedicated to its design heritage at The Calais Museum for Lace and Fashion in France. The exhibit, which runs until December this year, looks through the brand’s extensive archives and chronicles its use of textiles.
