Lashkaraa showcased its first ever bridal collection titled ‘Garden of Serenity’ on the runway at Bombay Times Fashion Week in Mumbai. Bollywood celebrity Karishma Kapoor closed the show wearing a pastel hued lehenga with delicate embellishments, the brand announced in a press release.

Lashkaraa’s bridal wear collection featured lehengas in classic silhouettes and an array of colours for brides and wedding guests alike to choose from. The collection was inspired by butterflies and mother nature and was designed to mix heritage craft techniques with a modern, youthful edge. Textiles included organza and georgette with beading and sequins creating 3D floral appliqués.

“The Bombay Times Fashion Week is a huge platform,” said brand founder Sumeer Kaur in a press release. “It is the perfect opportunity and place to unveil our brand in India. We are excited, but equally nervous. This is the first time we are foraying into heavily embellished outfits, and the aim is to set high standards.”

Bombay Times Fashion Week ran from September 30 to October 2 in Mumbai and featured a range of designers from across India. The event also featured the Streax Professional Times India Hair Style Icon contest and an interactive skincare event, the event organisers announced on Facebook.

Sumeer Kaur launched Lashkaraa in 2014 and the apparel brand has expanded to include womenswear, menswear, and children’s wear as well as jewellery. The brand retails from its dedicated e-commerce store, which offers shipping to over 40 countries.
