Landmark Group elevates Kabir Lumba to board chairman position for Lifestyle International

Dubai-based Landmark Group has elevated Kabir Lumba to the position of chairman of its board of directors for Lifestyle International.

Lumba will be replacing Ramanathan Hariharan, who will be retiring from his position in March 2021, while Lumba will take charge on April 1, 2021. Additionally, Lumba will also hold the role of CEO of Landmark Retail Middle East.
 
Thanking the outgoing chairman, Landmark Group in a statement said: “Mr. Ramanathan has been instrumental in building market-leading brands across multiple geographies; from the Middle East to India and South East Asia. Lifestyle International is grateful for his distinctive contribution, that has made it the reputed company it is today."

Lifestyle International had reported strong sales of Rs 8,467 crore ($1.19 billion) for the last financial year, with a net profit of Rs 426 crore.
 
Kabir Lumba has been with the Group for over 16 years. He served as Managing Director, Lifestyle International Pvt Ltd since 2009. In May 2018, he took over as the CEO of Max, Middle East and then became Group Director, Landmark Group with a broad portfolio of responsibilities. Lumba was appointed CEO designate, Landmark Retail, Middle East on 1st December 2020.
 
Founded in 1973 in Bahrain, the Landmark Group is one of the largest retail groups in the Middle East. It entered the Indian market in 1999 and currently operates formats including Lifestyle department stores chain, Home Centre, and Max Fashion in the country.
