Lancôme names Aya Nakamura global brand ambassador
Lancôme, one of the flagship brands of L'Oreal group's luxury division, has appointed singer Aya Nakamura as its new global brand ambassador. The appointment comes as the singer-songwriter released her latest album DNK on January 27.
The 27-year-old is the most listened to French-speaking artist in the world on Spotify, with more than 6 billion streams. She joins Lancôme's closed circle of muses that includes Zendaya and Amanda Seyfried.
"I have been following Aya Nakamura's career for a long time because I admire her talent and her artistic choices. She is a true role model for a whole generation, and I am happy that she is joining the Lancôme family", explains Françoise Lehmann, Lancôme global brand president.
Aya Nakamura, whose music mixes African influences and pop rhythms like her hits "Djadja" or "Pookie", has already evolved in the world of fashion and beauty during her career, collaborating with big luxury brand Balenciaga, but also with players in the mass market segment including Undiz and MAC Cosmetics. Recently, the artist has been working with Vestiaire Collective.
A documentary film, born from the collaboration between Lancôme and Aya Nakamura, will soon be unveiled on Youtube. It will show the behind-the-scenes of her new album release and showcase the artist until her series of concerts at the Accor Arena scheduled for the end of May. Aya Nakamura will also be featured in upcoming Lancôme advertising campaigns.
