The contest will be open to diamond jewellery designers with three to eight years from leading jewellery brands from across India.

Winners of the contest will get an opportunity to showcase at the upcoming edition of the Lakme Fashion Week. They will be chosen by an eminent jury panel, which will evaluate them on parameters ranging from quality, innovation, marketability to originality and ability to take their business to the next level.

Commenting on the collaboration, Richa Singh, managing director for India at DPA, in a statement said: "After a successful start at the LFW Summer Resort, we are delighted to take our partnership to the next level with the second edition of ‘The Real Cut’. It is the perfect opportunity for young diamond jewellery designers to celebrate this billion-year-old miracle of nature and display the integral role they can play in everyday wear fashion.”

Jaspreet Chandok, vice-president and fashion head at IMG Reliance, added: “We are thrilled with the association as it opens the doors for the entire diamond jewellery design community to interface with the Lakmé Fashion Week. It also provides young talent in an allied industry the leverage of the premier fashion event in the country and we hope some of our discoveries make a major mark in the industry going forward.”

The winter/festive 2019 edition of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) will be held from August 21 to 25 at St Regis in the city of Mumbai.
