Gundi Studios mixed streetwear with school-wear for a youthful yet edgy collection. Key pieces included white girlish dresses complete with sheet textile inserts that read “Gundi” in gold lettering, satin bomber jackets, and sporty separates. Hip Hop singer Raja Kumari was the brand’s showstopper and she rapped her way down the runway in a blue and aqua satin set with gold jewellery and sneakers.

Biskit Unisex presented its take on utilitarian, gender neutral clothing with a monochrome collection. Comfort and practicality drove the show’s aesthetic with multi-pocketed jackets and loose trousers worn by both male and female models and hints of modern tribalism were shown in the models’ abstract white makeup.

Jaywalking’s collection mixed futuristic, cyber styling with 90s throwback influences and had a colour palette of black and neons. Sportswear, logo-mania, and lightning bolts created a striking statement on the runway.

Six5SixStreet presented a sporty array of men’s and womenswear that mixed retro inspirations with millennial cool. Pockets were a big feature and clothing was mainly loose and gender neutral.

Lakme Fashion Week began on August 21 and runs until August 25 at the St Regis in Mumbai. The fashion week celebrates its 20th birthday this season.
