In an interview with New York Magazine's The Cut section, German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld revealed that his beloved cat, Choupette, made €3m last year.

Choupette's Instagram

Choupette, who has her own Instagram, two maids that look after her, and is on the new cover of Lucky Magazine, made the money from just two jobs, Lagerfeld says: one "for cars in Germany and the other was for a Japanese beauty product." The Independent clarifies: they were for Shu Uemura, which produced the Shupette collection, and for a Vauxhall Corsa car calendar.

Put into perspective, Choupette's €3m (£2,172,625) is close to what supermodel Cara Delevingne made last year: £2.4m. And Lagerfeld obviously doesn't doubt that she's worth it, saying of Choupette: "She is the center of the world. If you saw her, you would understand. She is kind of Greta Garbo. There is something unforgettable about her, the way she moves, the way she plays. She’s an inspiration for elegance. For attitude."
