Four sustainable fashion designers will launch the upcoming autumn/winter 2019 edition of LMIFW: Rina Dhaka, Sahil Kochhar, Samant Chauhan, and Shalini James.

The designers will take part in the LivaEco Green Heart Show at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. The fashion week has also partnered with Liva, a sustainable textile made by Aditya Birla Group, for the entire event.

“As the world is getting conscious about what we eat, wear and speak, this season we combine the elements integral to human existence to create a concept that supports conscious consumption,” said Sunil Sethi, the president of the FDCI, as reported by the Hindustan Times. “We will celebrate invisible voices and maestros by curating a blueprint for the future.”

LMIFW will run until March 18 in the capital and the final two days will feature the FDCI Designer Stockroom sale. Around 100 brands will participate in the fashion week through runway shows and stalls.

“We can’t ignore the destruction caused by man on the environment and eco-friendly fashion will be the driving change for the coming years while fashion weeks will be carriers of the waves so that it reaches the masses and common man,” said Rina Dhaka about her reasons for choosing sustainable fashion.
