The two day fashion event, powered by Volkswagan Passat, had as its title “Emerging Talents + Industry”. The event was hosted by FAD International’s Shivang Dhruva and Kulsum Shadab Wahab of the Hothur Foundation and it brought together over one thousand professionals in creative industries from across the world. Guests flew in from countries including Italy, the UK, and the Middle East to discuss fashion and network with India-based professionals.

A total of 30 speakers and 120 industry insiders were present at the event and panel discussions included topics such as “Fashion 360/ The Ecosystem”, “Fashion Start-ups and Funding/ an Investor’s Perspective”, “Luxury/ an Evolving Landscape”, and “Digital Disruption/ the New Dimension”.

The topic of gender in fashion, one that has been in the media a lot in India this year, was also addressed in a talk entitled “Men in Skirts/ the Revolution of Gender Fluidity” led by the panellist Adrien Yakimov Roberts.

A runway was held featuring designs by current FAD students. The students’ clothing was paired with headwear designed and made by acid attack survivors, an initiative supported by the Hothur Foundation. An acid attack survivor also walked the runway and the event also sought to promote inclusivity in fashion through the show.
