Garnier is gaining market share across both men’s and women’s skincare and hair care, ET Bureau reported. The brand aims to capitalise on this growth and continue to increase its market share by balancing a democratisation and a premiumisation of its beauty products.

“India is one of the top 10 markets for us, but our mission is to take it to top five,” said Garnier’s global brand president at L’Oreal Adrien Koskas, ET Retail reported. “We’re really betting on India, given the sheer size of the market and the population.”

Garnier recently opened its first plastic waste collection centre in Chennai. The centre opened in partnership with charitable organisation Plastics for Change and is set to collect 2,000 tonnes of plastic waste in its first year of operations.

Plastic collected at the centre will be used to make packaging for Garnier’s hair care products. This initiative is also designed to support the local community and will provide opportunities to around 2,000 people in the area.
