With this new order, KVIC has received orders worth Rs 14 crore from the paramilitary forces for its products.

Earlier this year, KVIC had signed an MoU signed with the armed forces for the annual supply of its khadi products as part of the ‘Self-Reliant’ India initiative.

Commenting on the development, Vinai Kumar Saxena, chairman of KVIC in a statement said, “The repeat order for Khadi cotton durries is a testimony of the excellent quality of Khadi products which is the hallmark of Khadi. These bulk orders for Khadi products will not only encourage the use of Swadeshi products in our forces but also create large-scale additional employment for Khadi artisans.”

KVIC has been receiving numerous orders for the Khadi fabric with American clothing brand Patagonia Inc recently ordering 30,000 metres of Khadi denim fabric to use in its ethical clothing line.

KVIC retails a range of Khadi products as well as locally made personal care goods and other items at its brick-and-mortar stores and online.
