Almost two years after the iconic Rhythm House record store shut its doors for the last time in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai, Kunal Rawal has opened a store on the first floor of the building. The store houses Rawal’s traditional and fusion wear men’s fashion and the area, once split up into small offices, is now a large, open space.

The Art Deco building’s design has been incorporated into Rawal’s store and mixed with his own design aesthetic. The façade of the store has been painted Rawal’s signature hue, ox blood red, and a VIP area has been created for special customers.

"I have such fond memories of Rhythm House, as a Juhu boy," Rawal told DNA India. "When I started going about the hunting process for a space for my flagship store, I didn't think twice, I just jumped at it."

Rawal chose the interior designer and architect Rooshad Shroff to help him with the space. Shroff exposed the high roof of the building as well as the high windows to create a more spacious feel.
