Kunal Anil Tanna to launch “Alacrity” collection with Mumbai event

Designer Kunal Anil Tanna will present his “Alacrity” autumn/ winter 2019 collection on October 17 at his Santacruz flagship store in Mumbai in an exclusive showcase. 

Tanna will launch his latest collection in Mumbai’s Santacruz district on Thursday and Bollywood actor Rahul Khanna will take part in the event as the designer’s muse. Tanna will meet with guests at the event and discuss the new collection.

Tanna’s Alacrity menswear collection was inspired by “nostalgia in modern day,” according to the brand’s press release. The collection mixes traditional Indian tailoring with fusion elements and hand stitched details add a couture touch. With a colour palette including deep navy, off white, and black, the collection has a “day to night” feel.

Kunal Anil Tanna launched his eponymous brand after graduating from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Mumbai and working for designer Manish Malhotra. During his time working at Manish Malhotra, Tanna worked on costume design for a number of Bollywood films and designed various couture and diffusion collections for the brand. Tanna now runs stores for his brand in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Dubai.
