Krésha Bajaj’s new flagship store resides in what was once a commercial bank. The space has been transformed into a pink and crystal encrusted boutique that brings to mind French salons complete with Jo Malone candles to perfume the store.

“Once a commercial bank, this place has been completely transformed to make for a homely place where young girls can come to browse with their friends and family,” Bajaj told Vogue India.

The store has its own “bridal boudoir” which is accessible by appointment only. The space looks like a walk in wardrobe and is decorated with velvet drapes and crystal chandeliers designed to, “resemble the dream walk-in closet from every girl’s wildest fantasy,” according to the designer.

The store also has Bajaj’s famous “Love Story Lehenga” on display in a gilded frame. The lehenga features Bajaj’s personal love story embroidered on her bridal lehenga.

Bajaj told the magazine: “There isn’t a single day that goes by when we aren’t requested by patrons to see the lehenga in person, so it made sense to have it framed at the epicentre of all creativity in the boutique. I think what struck a chord with people is that it is truly personalised, and we’ve now extended the concept to bridal blouses and grooms’ sherwanis—we’ve even created embroidered family trees for expectant mothers at baby showers.”

The brand will also launch its upcoming collection in store. “Dentelle” is a collection inspired by Bajaj’s recent scuba diving trip to Indonesia and features diaphanous French lace.
