Koskii has opened its eighth bridal and occasion wear store in Bengaluru and plans to expand to Chennai and Hyderabad before working towards a pan-India presence.
The traditional wear brand Koskii has strengthened its presence in Bengaluru with another flagship store. With 15,000 square feet of retail space, it is one of the brand’s largest stores in the city.
The store has three storeys and is designed to resemble a Haveli. The ground floor is dedicated to gowns and lehengas and the store front features mannequins hanging in mid-air suspended from the ceiling and seated on swings.
A spiral staircase leads customers up to the first floor, which starts with a mezzanine section and showcases the brand’s bridal wear. Above that, the second floor is dedicated to sarees. The boutique retails clothing featuring traditional textile techniques such as Kundan, Phulkari, Aari, Zardozi, Chikan, and Nakshi.
Koskii means “girl” in the Nawayati language and the brand is inspired by the Nawayat community who originally came from Persia and settled in South India.
The first retail outlet of C H Badsha & Co, Koskii’s predecessor, was opened in 1922 in the Kodagu district. The brand plans to reach a revenue target of Rs 35 crore ($5.3 million) by the end of the current fiscal year.
