Kochi hosts three-day International Fashion Week

Kochi International Fashion Week hosted an array of designers for its eighth season with showcases from Sanjana Jon, Uma Prajapati, Alka Hari, Hari Anand, and Jules Idi Amin, among others.

The event kicked off with a curtain raiser event on December 13 that took place at Kochi’s Casino Hotel. The fashion week, organised by Storm, was the events business’s 51st fashion show in the region.

Celebrity actresses Anchal and Sana Althaf and actor John Kaipallil all made appearances on the runway as showstoppers this season. Hari Anand presented a collection entitled “The Minimalist” that featured modern, clean cut gowns and fusion wear. Anand also shows at Kyron’s Pondicherry fashion week.

Designers Sanjana Jon, Uma Prajapati, Alka Hari, and Jules Idi Amin also presented collections that ranged from western style gowns to opulent traditional wear. The fashion week took place from December 13 to 16 in Kochi and was sponsored by Kyron and Ultra with Casino Hotel as the official host. The event was also livestreamed on Facebook.

The summer fashion week event had previously been planned for August but, due to the devastating floods that ravaged the Kochi area and Kerala at large during the monsoon, it was postponed until October when it took place from the 25 to 27.
