The Khazana Mahal museum is located in GurjarGhati near Jalmahal, Jaipur and has been set up in a 100 year-old Heritage Haveli, Indo-Asian News Service reported. The museum will open next month with a wide selection of gems and jewellery to showcase India’s folklore, traditions, and history relating to the art form.

“This is situated close to the historically famous Parshuram Dwar, where the AshwamedhaYagya was performed initially by Lord Ram and then in 1734 by Raja Sawai Jai Singh the second,” said Anup Shrivastav who took part in designing the museum, the National Herald reported. “Khazana Mahal showcases more than 2,000 pieces of real and rare gemstones and jewellery across 50 plus different types and categories.”

The entry fee for Indian tourists will cost Rs 500 and entry for foreign tourists will cost Rs 1,500. The museum is being promoted as India’s first international-standard gem and jewellery museum.

Attractions at the museum will include an ‘Optical Glass Maze’, which creates the illusion of floating gemstones, as well as a replica of the Kohinoor diamond, a dinosaur bone, shark teeth, and other large diamonds. The museum has a segment dedicated to stamps and postcards which commemorate a gem or a jewel and a display for the largest finger ring in the world.
