Khadim India bolsters accessories segment

Footwear brand Khadim India has expanded into accessories and launched a wide range of women’s handbags as well as other leather goods and lifestyle items as the brand aims to continue to expand across India.

Khadim India is strengthening its recently launched accessories segment with new products, the brand announced on Facebook. New launches include women’s evening and day bags with styles ranging from glittery to utilitarian, to men’s belts, wallets, and socks. 

The brand celebrated the 96th birth anniversary of its founder, the late Satya Prasad Roy Burman, on June 11, Business Standard reported. As part of the celebrations, Khadim India shared its plans to become India’s second largest footwear brand and to establish a stronger retail presence in the north and west of the country where it still classes itself as an emerging brand. 

Satya Prasad Roy Burman entered the footwear business in 1965 in Chitpur, Kolkata with a small store. Burman then entered the retail sector in 1993, after which his business transformed from a wholesaler of footwear to a manufacturer, retailer, and distributor. The brand currently has a store network of 799 retail outlets and 575 distributors across India which plans to continue to add to.
