Kewal Kiran Clothing net profit drops 6 percent to Rs 32 crore

Leading branded apparel maker Kewal Kiran Clothing Ltd saw its net profit drop 6 percent to Rs 32 crore ($4.6 million) for the second quarter ended September 2019 as against Rs 34 crore it reported in the previous fiscal of the corresponding quarter.

The company’s revenue for the quarter rose by 9 percent to Rs 167 crore for the July-September quarter as against Rs 152 crore it had reported in the year-ago period.
 
Kewal Kiran which owns brands like Killer, Integriti, LawmanPg3, Easies, and Desi Belle is expecting strong results in the coming quarters on the back of festive season sales coupled with retail expansion.

For the financial year 2018-19, Kewal Kiran had a revenue jump of 9 percent to Rs 524 crore with a 10 percent increase in profit to Rs 80 crore.
 
Kewal Kiran has been rapidly expanding its retail presence across the country for all its brands and plans to add over 500 small-format stores over the next five years.
 
The company currently has 336 retail stores 210 cities across 25 states and also sells on leading e-commerce platforms in India.
