Having been appointed head of the Asia-Pacific region, Carlo Imò "will support the international expansion of Kering brands in the region," according to a statement by the luxury group.

Imò will begin at his new position on December 1 and will report to Jean-François Palus, Kering group managing director. He succeeds Mimi Tang, who after 16 years with the group, has decided to move on to a new chapter of her life, said the company.

Tang, who “has been essential to the development of all [the group’s] brands, more specifically Gucci, in the Asia Pacific region,” will remain a member of the board of the Kering Foundation.

Carlo Imò joined the group in 2001 as worldwide Gucci general counsel. In 2007, he was transferred to the Asia-Pacific initially to address legal matters, and was subsequently appointed HR manager. Before joining the group, he worked for over ten years at blue-chip retail and financial corporations.
