Kapiva appoints Shantanu as its chief operating officer
Homegrown direct-to-consumer (D2C brand Kapiva has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Shantanu as its chief operating officer. He joins Kapiva from Uniqlo India, where he served as senior director marketing and e-commerce.
In his new role, Shantanu will lead Kapiva’s brand, product, and strategy verticals. The brand is confident that Shantanu’s experience will help it make deeper inroads in the Ayurveda market in India.
Commenting on his new role, Shantanu in a statement said: “Kapiva is redefining Ayurveda for Indians. While the pandemic brought out the importance of proactively building good health, the brand has been enabling it by making Ayurveda modern, convenient and accessible. I am extremely excited to join its journey at this juncture and enable young Indians to experience the power of Ayurveda.”
Commenting on the appointment, Shrey Badhani, co-founder at Kapiva added: “Shantanu joins us at a pivotal time when the market opportunity is immense. He brings on board a wealth of experience from managing brands like P&G and Uniqlo where he has been instrumental in driving growth.”
Shantanu is a seasoned professional with about 14 years of experience in sales and marketing with global brands. Prior to Uniqlo, he worked for Procter & Gamble for more than ten years in several leadership roles.
