July 3rd saw the launch of the Delhi-based label Kanelle’s online store featuring its latest collection, “Under the Cherry Tree”.

The brand announced in the afternoon of July 3rd on their Facebook page that the “Kanelle online boutique is now live” and informed that their latest collection was available to shop on the site along with a “sale” section. The brand also launched a “journal” section featuring interviews with fashion bloggers and industry professionals showcasing their own Kanelle garments.

Kanelle was already available online in India at Pernia’s Pop-up Shop and the label has a flagship store in New Delhi. The brand sells both western clothing and saris and each item sees a mix of traditional Indian design and a modern, international influence. The brand focuses on handcrafted products and heavily uses handwoven textiles such as khadi, chanderi, and jamdani. Items on the website are available both in made to measure and in pre-made sizes.

The brand’s 31-year-old founder and creative director Kanika Jain set up Kanelle in 2011 after studying at the London College of Fashion and subsequently working as a stylist and designer’s assistant. For the past six years Kanelle has produced two collections a year, spring/summer and autumn/winter, and has shown collections at Lakme Fashion Week, Mumbai.
