Kalki opens first store in New Delhi

Women’s traditional wear brand Kalki has opened its largest store to date in New Delhi’s South Extension featuring a dedicated bridal segment.

Kalki’s new flagship store opened with an array of ornate occasion wear ranging from ombre lehengas to sarees and gowns. The store also has a bridal section to offer a dedicated service to brides-to-be, Kalki announced in a press release. The store’s interior mixes antique gold hardware and fittings with an industrial ceiling for a fusion effect, designed to reflect the fusion style aesthetic of the label.

The store opened this month with a vibrant launch party with Bollywood celebrity Malaika Arora as chief guest. Arora inaugurated the store and attended the launch wearing a deep maroon lehenga by the brand.

“We've reached a mind space, where we do things that make us and our customers happy,” said Kalki’s director Nishit Gupta in a press release. “The goal has always been to direct and push the brand to a hugely experimental, dynamic space where we do anything and everything that we love, has been our goal. Bringing within the latest research, using technology, innovation, and modern digital marketing as an answer to give our clients the attention of professional fashion consultants who help them select and elegance each outfit is what we've enjoyed doing. Kalki is a dynamic enterprise where Kalki experience is our priority.”

Kalki launched in Mumbai in 2007 and works with a team of 500 artisans to produce its womenswear designs. The brand also has a flagship store in Mumbai and has a customer base in India, as well as in countries including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia among others, according to the brand.
