Ka-sha visited South Africa as part of the IMG Reliance cohort invited to take part in the South African Fashion Week (SAFW) Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS) fashion show. The show was the first of its kind and featured designers from all respective countries. The theme was “BRICS in Africa: Collaboration for Inclusive Growth and Shared Prosperity in the 4th Industrial Revolution”. The fashion show celebrated the countries’ decade of co-operation.

Showing alongside fellow Indian designer Ujjawal Dubey of the label Antar-Agni, Ka-sha displayed a sustainable collection that featured brightly coloured handloom weaves, something the brand has become known for.

2018 has been a busy year for Ka-sha as the brand was also part of the Tranoi trade show earlier in the year. The brand had a booth at the Carrousel de Louvre at the Tranoi and introduced its designs to the European market, marking a leap into the international market for the Pune-based brand.

Ka-sha was founded by Karishma Shahani Khan in 2011 after she graduated from the London College of Fashion. The brand is influenced by street style and uses sustainable materials. Along with retailing from a number of multi-brand boutiques, Ka-sha also has its own e-commerce store.
