KVIC to collaborate with designers to showcase at Lakme Fashion Week

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has collaborated with designers Gaurav Khanijo, Anuj Bhutani and Pallavi Dhyani for a special khadi collection which will be showcased on day 2 of the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019.

The collection has been created by the three designers with the support of KVIC artisans from across the country.
 
Commenting on the collaboration, Vinai Kumar Saxena, chairman, KVIC in a statement said, “Khadi is the fabric of the future. Due to its unique eco-friendly nature and perfect and vivid fabric qualities, Khadi has become a stylish narrative that is now popularly embraced by designers. Even today, past 72 years, the fabric continues to inspire and amaze creative minds across all international borders.”

Jaspreet Chandok, vice president and head of fashion at IMG Reliance added, “It is an honour to once again partner with the KVIC as we come together to celebrate 150 years of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. We are proud to present KVIC who in collaboration with designers Khanijo, Anuj Bhutani and Pallavi Dhyani will showcase their unique interpretation that is poised to take the sustainable lifestyle conversation to a larger audience.”
 
Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 will begin on 21 August and conclude on 25 August.
