Jyothy Labs Q3 profit up 30 percent to Rs 48 crore

Homegrown FMCG firm Jyothy Laboratories posted a 30 percent jump in its standalone net profit at Rs 48 crore ($6.8 million) for the quarter ended December 2018. It had posted a net profit of Rs 37 crore during the same period previous fiscal.

The company’s revenue also for the quarter also rose to Rs 441 crore as compared to Rs 414 crore it had posted in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
 
The personal care division contributed Rs 40 crore to the company’s overall revenues during the quarter with a profit of Rs 9 crore.

Commenting on the results, Jyothy Laboratories chairman and managing director M P Ramachandran in a statement said, “Last quarter we witnessed diminished growth due to the unfortunate calamity in Kerala. The situation has stabilised and with the onset of the festive season, this quarter we have seen significant growth in our revenues and overall profits.”
 
"As stated earlier we aim to expand and increase our footprint and we are taking necessary actions for the same. Focusing on sustained growth quarter on quarter has been our strategy and we have been successfully implementing the same to achieve our goals. Strengthening our distribution channel is a continuous process to maintain strong networks," he added.
 
Jyothy Laboratories Ltd was established in 1983 and owns 10 brands across categories with a strong presence in the personal care segment.
