Drishti Doshi’s footwear brand Junipero has had a “lucky” experience during the pandemic and is “prepared” for any incoming lockdown measures as the company implements its own social distancing and vaccination policies.

“Since the onset of Covid-19, we have made sure our artisans as well as office staff always have their masks on during office hours,” Doshi told Moneycontrol. “We have also made sure every staff member is double vaccinated by now. Since we are primarily an e-commerce brand, we were operational all through lockdown up till now, without a single staff member getting Covid- we have been lucky that way.”

The brand has continued to launch new collections during the pandemic, despite footwear being one of the more affected areas of the fashion industry as people required fewer shoes when they were stuck indoors. The brand’s new line of embellished slip-ons have been designed to work from day-to-night to reflect the pandemic-driven trends of comfort and versatility.

“We are prepared now as well in case of a lockdown as we have always taken all safety measures as per government policies and regulations,” said Doshi. “All staff members, as well as delivery partners, maintain social distance while carrying out tasks.”

Drishti Doshi launched Junipero in Mumbai in 2017 as a sustainable, eco friendly and cruelty free handmade footwear brand which uses vegan leather. As part of its commitment to charitable initiatives, the brand donates one pair of shoes to people in need for every 10 pairs sold, according to its website.
