JSW Sports to enter sportswear market
JSW Sports is planning to enter the lucrative sportswear market in India with the launch of its brand JSW Inspire.
The company sees huge potential in the active-wear market in India and plans to launch its brand online over the next few months.
JSW Sports, which co-owns the Indian Premier League team Delhi Capitals, apart from kabaddi team Haryana Steelers, and football club Bengaluru FC, actively participates in building the sporting ecosystem in India.
Commenting on the development, Parth Jindal, managing director of JSW in a statement said, “The sporting arm of the JSW Group has long considered venturing into the sports apparel space. I firmly believe that an Indian brand is capable of delivering high-quality active wear.”
“Our involvement in Indian sport has evolved through our various teams, franchises, athletes and high-performance centres. Our wider footprint makes this a perfect opportunity for vertical expansion,” added Jindal.
JSW Sports is the sports arm of the JSW Group, a $13 billion conglomerate with a presence across India, the US, South America, Europe & Africa.
