This September will see the first new full-line John Lewis store in four years open in Birmingham. It will be one of the department retailer's largest stores outside of London.

Applications for over 500 jobs at the regional flagship have now opened. This is in addition to the 150 specialist vacancies already being recruited for at the Birmingham shop and 200 new jobs being created at John Lewis's national distribution centres in Magna Park, Milton Keynes, that will be recruited for over the next twelve months, the company said.

The Birmingham store will measure 250,000 sqft. and be the anchor tenant in the £150m Grand Central retail development. It represents a £35m investment by John Lewis. Employers at John Lewis become part of the Partnership and are all co-owners of the business.
