Jimmy Choo launches exclusive India collection 'Shaan'
Jimmy Choo has launched an exclusive collection for the Indian market. The luxury footwear and accessories brand’s new capsule line is designed to celebrate Jimmy Choo’s Indian customers.
The collection has launched in Kolkata at the Jimmy Choo store in luxury shopping centre Quest Mall, the mall announced on Facebook. The collection made its media debut with a cover of Harpers Bazaar, worn by Bollywood actress Ananya Panday.
“The collection talks to some of our most iconic styles when it comes to event dressing in a focused colour palette of pink, gold and red,” Jimmy Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi told Vogue India. “We wanted to create a capsule that will resonate with our community and captures the celebration and fantasy of the Jimmy Choo world.”
The collection features both wedge heels and stilettos, with options for the red carpet and nights out. The glittering heels are also designed to work equally well with western or Indian occasion wear.
“I think our expertise in luxury and shoe design specifically combined with an enduring fashion aesthetic resonates not only in India but globally,” said Choi about the brand’s India operations. “We are consistent with our glamorous identity whether it comes in a flat sandal, a high heel, a sneaker or a handbag, the clients know we will deliver what they are looking for. I think there’s a huge opportunity for us to do more in the market and it’s definitely an area of focus for us.”
