Students of the JD Institute of design took part in India Fashion Week, London, for the fifth year in a row and had the chance to work with designer Samant Chauhan who presented his latest collection at the event.
Chauhan presented his latest collection “Starry Night” on the runway as part of the event in the British capital last month and JD Institute students took part in a meet-and-greet session with the designer to discuss the collection, current trends, and innovation in the fashion industry, the institute announced on Facebook on December 10.
“Students had an extremely wonderful time with the prominent designer,” wrote the institute on Facebook. “We congratulate the ace designer for successfully establishing himself as the master of sustainable and ethical design.” Students took part in a number of discussions and educational activities whilst in London.
Chauhan’s collection took black as its main colour which accentuated the bright floral embroidery that embellished the sculptural garments. Striking fusion wear silhouettes including gowns, jumpsuits, and dress coats provided a number of day-to-night options.
“To inspire the next generation and celebrate collaboration, we are proud to announce our association with India Fashion Week London for fifth consecutive years,” JD Institute’s executive director Rupal Dalal said, reported by News Patrolling. “It has helped the emerging young talent of India to showcase their creative potential and establish a foothold in the design industry.”
India Fashion Week, London, took place at the Novotel in London, UK, and other participating designers included Rehan Ahmad Baley of Fouzia’s Couture and Jediiian Tonu Riba from Arunachal Pradesh, both of whom won awards.
