The JD Institute of Fashion Technology held Curator this week to showcase its graduating students’ final collections. The event also incorporated the institute’s Annual Design Awards 2019 to recognise its most talented students’ work.

Sustainability and innovation were highlighted and a wide range of traditional, fusion, and western wear walked the runway. As part of its sustainability feature, Jaipur and Vijayanagara textiles were featured on the runway to both celebrate and promote the handloom weaves.

The fashion show featured local celebrity actress Oviya as its showstopper. The fashion show was also filmed by the Baburaj production team and snippets of it will feature in the upcoming film Black Coffee in which Oviya will also feature.

The show was directed by Rahul Dev Shetty and local models who took part included Gokila KG, Shibin, and Aida Henry.

The event took place at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi and was organised in partnership with International Fashion Fest, Pegasus, The Style World, Unique Times, Jaji’s, and Ultra.
