JD Annual Design Awards 2019 features runway show in New Delhi

The JD Institute of Fashion Technology hosted its annual Design Awards on June 14 and 15 to celebrate the work of its fashion and jewellery design students.
This year, the JD Annual Design Awards featured an array of runway shows where students showcased their graduating collections for both clothing and jewellery. Just some of the designers who showcased their work on the runway included Annapurna Goswami with the collection 'Flower Child'; Bindhu Reddy and Manasa Mysore with their collection 'Nordic Credence'; and Rakhshitha H.L. and Varshini M with their collection 'Bargad- the Strangler'.
Karishma R Bhagat, Vijayalakshmi and Punit Kumar, Sujay Kumar, Deeksha M Jain and Sonal R, and Payal Borana also featured, among others. Awards were presented to many of the designers to recognise their work.
During the week leading up to the awards, the institute also held showcases for its interior design and photography students. Installations displayed the graduating student’s final projects and were open to guests and teaching staff as well as industry professionals.
The institute’s Bangalore branch was recently awarded the title of Global League Institute for 2019 to 2020 by Great Place to Study. The award was presented at the House of Commons in London, UK, and was based on a global student satisfaction study. The award was presented on June 17 in the British capital by GPTS’s CEO Shekhar Bhattacharjee.
