Jaypore, which was founded online in 2012, has already reached positive EBITDA for its offline business and expects the same for its online business by 2020.

The brand, which opened a store in Delhi and in Bengaluru this year, has already reported that revenue from the two stores is contributing between ten and 12 percent towards the business’ overall revenue.

“By the end of financial year 2020 we are planning to open 10 stores,” Jaypore’s co-founder and CEO Puneet Chawla told IndiaRetailing.

“We are looking at the top cities, metros and mini-metros. We have earmarked Rs 10 crore for the offline expansion which will be through internal accruals and by raising money.”

The year 2018 marked the beginning of Jaypore’s omni-channel journey “Early this year, we shifted from clicks-to-bricks and opened our first store in Delhi and then the second store was launched in Bengaluru,” explained Chawla.

“Today, we ship to 150 different cities in India and 60 countries globally.”

Although Jaypore was founded with the aim of bringing Indian craftsmanship to the world, the business quickly realised the domestic demand. Now, according to Chawla, 70 percent of the business comes from India.
