Japan's Owndays to open shops in Thailand, Cambodia

Next month will see Tokyo-based eyewear company Owndays open its first stores in Thailand and Cambodia.

Owndays currently has 130 shops in Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and China. The Thai shop will be located at the Mega Bangna complex in Bankok's suburbs, while the Cambodia store will open in Aeon Mall Phnom Penh.

Ownday's Taiwan shop will measure 145 sqm., and the Cambodia store 95.7 sqm. Owndays stated: "The company has established its own overseas business model through its independent pricing system and services and is rapidly expanding its business activities. Owndays is determined to expand its business operations in Southeast Asian countries with the goal of opening 100 shops over the next five years."

Selling 1 million pairs of glasses a year, the company has established itself as an eyewear fast-fashion brand. In parallel to the store openings in Asia, it is expanding its business activities in the global market with the aim of becoming a full-fledged global go-to company.
