Janavi and Ajsk collaborate on festive shawl collection
The luxury shawl brand Janavi has collaborated with Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla’s brand Ajsk to create a collection of embellished cashmere shawls designed for an opulent festive season.
Inspired by Art Deco motifs and the Mughal era, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have joined forces with Janavi for a cashmere shawl capsule collection. The collection uses silk thread embroidery in both gold and silver on a pastel background and incorporates craft techniques including Zardosi with crystals, sequins, and oversized beads.
“These shawls are meant to drape a dreamer- someone who appreciates fine design and craftsmanship,” the design duo behind Ajsk told Vogue India. “They can go from a soiree or a cocktail to a wedding reception or black tie. They can be draped as scarves or as wraps. This collection takes the perceived staidness out of cashmere and makes it out of the box, deeply delicious, glamorous for every woman.”
The designers combined their opulent aesthetic with Jyotika Jhalani of Janavi’s signature scarves and have created a new take on the shawl. Launched in 1986, Ajsk is known for its traditional and evening wear and has both couture and ready-to-wear lines.
The collection is now available across the brand's stores in India and at KS Dubai in the UAE.
