James Ferreira to return to open India Runway Week

The season nine, winter festive edition of India Runway Week set to take place in New Delhi will be opened by James Ferreira who is returning to the event as its headline designer.

India Runway Week, which will take place at New Delhi’s DLF Place in the Saket area, is scheduled for October 6 to 8 this festive season. The event just announced that the designer James Ferreira will open the event with a runway show of his latest collection.

Ferreira’s collection will feature an organic cotton range for the day wear segment that will also feature draping and looser styles. There will also be an eveningwear section of the show which will include satin mini dresses and more formal gowns.

Ferreira said recently in a statement on his upcoming headlining collection: “I love spreading love for the country and I request young designers to be honest with their ideas as it will end like it begins, with a piece of cloth.” Moreover, Kiran Kheva the Fashion Director of India Runway Week said about the designer: “He is a dream designer to work with and for young emerging designers of our platform. It's going to be a great learning experience."

James Ferreira is an Indian fashion designer and he launched his eponymous fashion label in 1992. Ferreira has also shows at Lakmé Fashion Week and debuted there in 2006. Ferreira is known for his draped styles and has also produced diamond jewellery in collaboration with Gehna Jewellers.
