The GJEPC had sent a letter to the Jaipur Air Cargo Complex on October 12 to request it to increase the shipment value which is eligible for jewellery exporters to claim duty drawback on, the GJEPC reported on its website. The Jaipur Air Cargo Complex recently issued a written clarification to state that jewellery exporters can now claim duty drawback on the export of goods valued at more than Rs 20 lakh in one single shipment, routed through cargo mode via Jaipur airport.

Prior to the clarification, numerous jewellery exporters were incurring extra costs by splitting their shipments into smaller shipments in order to be eligible to claim duty drawback, according to the GJEPC. The organisation works to advocate for jewellery exporters and to promote the export of jewellery from India.

“We are elated to receive a resolution on this issue as it had been a long-pending demand of exporters, who were previously forced to split up shipments to claim duty drawback and suffered extra costs as a result,” said GJEPC chairman Vipul Shah, the GJEPC reported on November 10.
