Jade by Monica & Karishma celebrates divine femininity at FDCI x LFW

Jade by Monica & Karishma’s latest collection launched with a fashion film at Fashion Design Council of India x Lakme Fashion Week’s second edition. The film celebrated the divine feminine and all of the colours of nature. 

The brand’s fashion film for collection ‘Bani Thani’ began with a group of women dancing around a tree wearing intricately embellished lehengas and sets. The models resembled flowers fluttering in the wind as they gave thanks to mother nature. 
 
As the models continued to circle the tree, their movements highlighted the fullness of their skirts and the shimmers of the embellishments. Performer and dancer Alisha Lazarus led the models and adorned them with bright coloured powders with juxtaposed scenes of the troupe standing on a hillside with flaming torches. 

The collection’s tagline is “be your own kind of beautiful”, designed to encourage people to embrace their uniqueness. This message was also reflected in the styling of the collection as some models wore more traditional style lehenga sets and others paired their long skirts with more fusion style strappy tops. With a bright colour palette and paisley motifs, the collection was full of pieces suitable for a wedding or being mixed and matched for everyday wear. 
 
The second edition of FDCI x LFW runs from October 5 to 10 with a mix of online and offline events. The event, which is sponsored by Nexa and Rise Worldwide among others, also features design contests, NFTs, and a Virtual Showroom for buyers which will run for the next three months.
