After recently opening a first pop-up store in Beijing, London-based label JW Anderson has signed a licence deal for the production and distribution of its men's and women's footwear lines with Onward Luxury Group, the European subsidiary of the eponymous Japanese fashion group. The partnership will start with the Fall/Winter 2020-21 season for men’s footwear, and just before the autumn 2020 season for the women’s line.

Until now, the footwear range of the British label led by creative director Jonathan Anderson simply consisted of a reinterpretation of several iconic models by Converse, with which JW Anderson has been collaborating for several seasons. JW Anderson, in which LVMH Fashion Group acquired a minority stake in 2013, had signed in 2015 a footwear licence deal with Italian producer Rodolfo Zengarini, the licensee among others of Blumarine footwear.

Onward Luxury Group is the owner of labels like Jil Sander, Moreau Paris and Joseph, and also the ready-to-wear and footwear licensee for Mulberry and Proenza Schouler.
