JD Institute of Fashion Technology students take home awards at India Fashion Week London

A number of students from the JD Institute of Fashion Technology won awards and showcased their designs on the runway at India Fashion Week 2018 in London.

Designers and students Chhaya Gandhi and Bani won the RC Dalal Memorial Award during the National Asian Wedding Show that took place as part of India Fashion Week in London. The Young Talent Award was also presented to JD institute students Bijayendra Singh and Shourya Sarkar for the collection they showcased on the runway.
 
“It is first a huge opportunity for our students to part of a prestigious international stage like India Fashion Week London and second winning laurels and awards for the work our students have done,” Rupal Dalal, the executive director of the JD Institute of Fashion Technology said about the event.

“We are proud of the winners and all the others who have put in the hard work and proved their potential. This was a big platform and we aim to nurture our students and ready them for other such platforms where they can shine and stand out. We wish the best to our talented students and hope they will keep making us proud.”

Dalal also listed a total of 38 specialised garments designed and made by JD Institute students on the runway during the event.
 
India Fashion Week 2018 (London) featured the 14th edition of the National Asian Wedding Show, described by the founder of The Platinum Group, Manny Singh, as “Europe’s biggest wedding show.” Sing and the Platinum Group were behind the organisation of the fashion event.
