The Packing Man, an Italian start up, is taking an initiative to promote traditional Nepali fabrics in the US and European markets. A two member team from the company is in Nepal, studying the process of producing fabrics, while also collecting several fabric samples like dhaka blended with cotton or wool and allo and its blends, again with cotton or wool.

According to a leading Nepalese daily, co-founder of Packing Man, Ivanna Jamin and chief creative officer Taylor Carlin are in Nepal doing the entire study.

“Our main objective is to preserve traditional craftsmanship, where we collect stories of people engaged in such craftsmanship and deliver it to urban markets and consumers,” Jamin said while speaking to the daily. “We see a huge potential for Nepali fabrics and textiles industry, while at the same time, interesting stories of micro-entrepreneurs involved in the business needs to be promoted.”
