Italian brand Caprisa enters Indian market with Myntra

Italian brand Caprisa has entered the Indian market with an exclusive partnership with online fashion retailer Myntra. The brand, known for its handbags, suitcases, wallets, and accessories, will be exclusively sold in the country on the Myntra platform.

Caprisa is looking to tap into the fast-growing handbags segment in India and will cater to the affordable luxury segment by offering its products at an average price of around Rs 3,600 (approx $50). With Myntra, Caprisa is looking to target women from the metros and tier 1 cities.
 
Commenting on the launch, Manohar Kamath, Myntra's fashion chief, in a statement said, “We are delighted to announce the launch of Carpisa exclusively on Myntra. As a leader in fashion e-commerce, we are focused on making the best of international brands accessible to our customers and Carpisa is the latest entrant, targeted at the fashion conscious women in India.”

Francesco Pinto, head of expansion at Pianoforte Group added, “India offers a huge growth opportunity for Carpisa, considering the size of the burgeoning fashion and lifestyle market. We are proud of this association with Myntra that builds a strong launchpad for Carpisa, while also giving the much needed initial thrust to take off.”
 
Founded in 2001, Carpisa is one of the leading retailers in the bag, luggage and fashion accessory sector and has 611 stores worldwide, with 393 stores in Italy. It is endorsed by actor Penelope Cruz.
