ISPO 2017-18 product awards recognise innovation
The ISPO sport trade show, besides being the industry's major commercial event, also provides the opportunity for highlighting the season's most innovative products.
At the show's latest edition, ending on 8th February, eight 'products of the year' were chosen, among a myriad of 'Gold Winner' items. In the Outdoor segment, Italian footwear label Scarpa won with its mountaineering boot Ribelle Tech, whose comfort, lightness and durability impressed the jury.
In the Performance segment, another footwear model was awarded the 'product of the year' title, with the sprint shoe Cloudflash by Swiss brand On leading the pack. For skiing, Bootdoc's 3D scanning technology, labelled 'BD Vandra 3D scanner', offering the chance to customise ski boots and soles, took the honours. In the Action segment, the winner was Korua Shapes with its innovative Tugboat snowboard.
Finally, ISPO recognised three products for their ecodesign features. The Deterra anorak by Swedish brand Tierra, 100% made using biological materials, was crowned ‘ecological garment of the year’. The Tankr snowshoes by Norwegian brand Fimbulvetr won the ‘ecological material’ award, while ecological ski wax Nzero took the prize for ‘ecological accessory’.
