The Inter National Institute of Fashion Design will hold the second edition of its Design Festival at the next edition of Lakmé Fashion Week to give its students a platform from which to launch their fashion careers.
Following on from the last edition of LFW, the summer/resort edition that took place last month, the INIFD has decided to hold a second edition of its Design Festival which will run in tandem with the event. For the winter/ festive edition of LFW, scheduled for late summer, students will showcase their work alongside the Mumbai fashion week. Applications to participate have now opened.
On March 5, the INIFD announced the host cities for the Design Festival: Chandigarh, Indore, Hyderabad, Kanpur, and Mumbai, where LFW will take place. Both fashion design and interior design students are invited to apply to take part in the INIFD launchpad programme.
INIFD students have also just returned from a trip to London where a select group took part in London Fashion Week’s Vibrant India programme that celebrated the country’s design and its up-and-coming talent. Students visited Portobello Market, Buckingham Palace, and a lecture by Joseph Toronka as well as taking part in a runway show.
